Cippenham Young Players' Summer Festival - 25-26 June 2022
It had been three years since the last running of the Cippenham Young Players' Summer Festival but the home players put the Covid-related gap behind them and ran away with four of the seven titles at stake.

Pride of place went to the hugely improved Jamie Woodford who stole the show on the second day as he won both the Under-17 and Under-19 Boys Singles events. In both events Jamie found himself in the bottom half of the draw with top seed Toby Crawcour taking his allotted place at the top. In the morning evet, the Under-17s, Jamie was helped out by Tsun Ip eliminating Crawcour in the semi-final but in the later Under-19 event it was all Jamie's work, beating the top seed in the final itself.

Rachael Iles and Mia Lakhani were Cippenham's two other victors. These two outstanding players met in the final of the Under-15 Girls' Singles on Saturday and then again in the Under-17s on Sunday. The result was one title each. Rachael beat Mia in the Under-15s and then, the following day, Mia reversed the result in the round-robin Under-17s.

Cippenham members also came to the fore in the consolation events with Risan Thirupparan winning the Under-19 Boys' Consolation while Nick Carter was runner-up in the Under-17s and Riya Srinivas runner-up in the Under-13 Girls' Consolation.

The tournament was organised by Steve Piercey and refereed by Ken Phillips.
