The 2026 Club Championships continued on Tuesday with the second event, the Open Doubles.

Twelve pairs were organised into three groups of four by event organiser Martin Adams. Top seeds Sai Prasanna Kumar with Maciej Dlugozima and Hari Gehlot with Amit Kumar duly topped their groups as did Martin Adams and Emil Gheorghe in group 3.

The runners-up, who also qualified for the knock-out stages, were Randall Rodrigues with Celine Jose, Tom Skubis with Abdi Hasan and Robert and Jacek Zybert. Interesting, that of the twelve players in the knock-out rounds, half do not normally compete competitively.

Tom and Abdi defeated Robert and Jacek in the first knock-out round, as also did Martin and Emil over Randall and Celine. Onto the semi-finals, which both concluded 3-0 with Hari and Amit easily defeating Martin and Emil and Maciej and Sai doing likewise against Tom and Abdi.

​

The final proved to be a real humdinger of a match. After three games, Hari and Amit lead 2-1 but Sai and Maciej found another gear to take the final two games 11-6, 11-5.
