Bucks Closed Championships - 27 October 2024

The Buckinghamshire Closed Championships, held at Cippenham on Sunday, again proved very successful for the host club's players. All eight events featured Cippenham players in the final and only one title went outside of the Club.

Pride of place went to Rob Hansell, who has played for Cippenham in the Senior British Clubs League over 200 times and won multiple Bucks championships. Rob won all five events open to him: the Men's Singles, Veteran Singles at the first time of eligibility, Men's Doubles and Veteran Doubles, partnered each time by Dave Croucher, and the Mixed Doubles partnered by Antonina Bohach.

Antonina, who has registered for Cippenham in the Women's British Clubs League this season, topped up her tally of titles with the Ladies' Singles and Ladies' Doubles in which she was partnered by Cippenham team-mate Mary Heffernan.

There were also runners-up positions for other Cippenham players: George Driscoll, Jamie Woodford and Anna Piercey.
